Assessment is carried out formally in the shape of standardised tests in English and Maths and more informally in other subjects.

Reading is assessed regularly across the school using data from Accelerated Reader. Writing is assessed using expectations taught throughout the curriculum based on the actual age of the child. 

Maths is assessed termly using standardised scores from NFER which is then used to identify any gaps in the teaching and learning. We are also able to assess the children's learning at the end of a unit of teaching.

End of block assessments are used to understand the learning that has taken place in Science and the knowledge taught in the Foundation Subjects is revised weekly using our Quiz system. We also carry out end of Driver Project assessments as a group task to look at the skills required to be a successful Artist, Designer, Historian or Geographer.
