White Rose Science takes the highly successful approach that was pioneered with White Rose Maths and transfers it to the primary science curriculum. It uses a “small steps” approach to science teaching and follows the national curriculum for science for years 1 - 6. It gives specialist and non-specialist teachers a one stop solution as they help children develop scientific understanding and grasp scientific ideas.

White Rose Science teaches practical approaches to science in an engaging and logical way. At the same time, it provides teachers with all the guidance and supporting materials they need to plan and deliver a high-quality science education.

Our schemes of learning provide full coverage of the national curriculum for science, but they don’t stop there. They also cover scientific questions around sustainability and the planet, and help children develop an empathy for the local and wider environment.

Having achieved a Primary Science Quality Mark in 2023, the school has continued to build on these principles and extend the science teaching and curriculum in order to offer the children a hands-on practical approach to Science.
